Hi all.

I'm planning on looking at a 110 V8 this week. It is (was) registered in SA
as YBH 645 (could possibly be VBH 645).

It was for sale in Just 4x4's privately in SA in May 95, at a dealer in
Melbourne in October 95 and still in Melbourne (supposedly dealer closed,
he's selling it private).

So, it looks like its been for sale for at least 18mths. Thats gotta raise
concerns !

So, if anyone knows anything, could you pass it on !

Thanks,

Doug.

G'day Landrovery folks,
I imagine there must be those
among you that have experience of Holden motors in your Landys. Are over
heating problems a known problem with this combination, & if so are there
"standard" solutions? The motor is a "186" & the radiator appears to be the
standard Rover item with overflow bottle alongside.I live at the top of a
hill reached by 15kms of winding dirt road. Even on very cold days the
temperature gauge is sitting just "on the red" by the time I get home. (No
such problems with our F**d). Funnily enough it never seems to go higher
than this, but I'm worried that it will when the hotter weather finally arrives.
Are there larger radiators that can be easily fitted. Alternatively is it
feasible to fit a couple of smaller (motorcycle?) radiators to the bull bar
in addition to the existing one, without constricting the coolant flow rate?
Could it be possible that the landrover temperature gauge may not function
correctly with what I assume would be a Holden sender unit?
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.
Regards
Ian

Ian,
I have a Leyland 4.4l V8 in my S2A with standard Landie radiator. These
radiators have a deep core and handle the job ok. I've fitted a
non-standard temp gauge which gives me readings of 80 deg C maximum. I've
also fitted an electric fan at the front of the radiator with a dash
switch in case of heat buildup at low speeds but so far haven't needed to
use it.
Regards,
Michael McKinnon
