Hello, I am going to be switching tire size, and quite likely rear end
gear ratio on my '87 Range Rover. I would like to calculate the
difference in overall ratio. (Speedometer error too.)

Currently: 205x75x16 tires with 3.54 ring/pinion ratio. (28.5" tire
height - I just measured it.)

Plans: 235x85x16 tires with 4.70 ring/pinion ratio. (32" tire height)

Does anyone have a formula for calculating this? And/or for calculating
the final drive ratio? (Don't have the transmission and x-case ratios
handy, but I can get them.)

Thanks a bunch!!!

Dave (mathematically challenged) Brown ;)

Subject: D90 starting problems

I bought a new D90 a few months ago and love it.

Today, after starting it and letting it idle for a few (10-20)
seconds, it stalled. Numerous ^Tattempts to restart it failed. The
engine turned over but did not seem to fire or kick. After having
LR tow it to my favorite dealer I was informed that the wiring
harness was bad and thus the fuel pump was not functioning
correctly. The dealer has ordered new harness and will install it
in the next few days. I've heard that some 94's have had this
problem. Does anyone alse have any experience in this area?

I'm now driving a nissan sentra rental...reluctantly. At least the
dealer is paying for it.
