Subject: RUPP to BOAT denied
From: gerald.tan@bbc.co.uk (Gerald Tan)
Date: 19 Mar 97 10:25:06 GMT

On this mornings "Farming Today" (R4), I groggily caught a mention that
somebody had denied someone an application to convert a RUPP to a BOAT,
quoting that it was a bridleway.

It was also mentioned that this might set a precedent across the country.

Does anyone have more details of this?

Regards, Gerald.

Tim,

You may be interested following your radio chat on the Leysfield BOAT, CC
rang me today with report of "a dozen Landrovers racing round and round a
circuit using a bridleway adjacent, on the last three weekends".

Investigated - pack of lies, not only was there NO wheeled activity, there
was a bridleway gate intact!

Faxed a report back. It was one person projecting a problem will occur, and
someone else saying "Ive seen one near there, it must have started, lets
report it".

These hooligan residents do not deserve such considerate users!

Chris

This is an important Circular from DoE to HA's in 1993. It makes
interesting reading, If anyone would like a copy, about 9 pages, I can
email it direct.

Chris.
