environmental management dept in North Yorkshire CC, I have been told
that the person in question is a keen walker and in the RA and is very
anti 4x4 use of UCRs etc., does anybody know if we can object on the
grounds that he is not acting impartially and obstructing the use of
these UCRs?
Even one of the National Park Officers said there would not be any
change untill this man retires.>>>

ISTM that there are *very* good grounds for challenging this persons
impartiality. Find 2-3 instances where a 'reasonable' decision has not
been made, for a start...

...and what about this NPOs comment?. Why did he make it? Is he a
potential pro-4x4, or is he exasperated with the bias shown? Does the
bias make itself obvious to him in a way not seen by 4x4 users?. Could
*that* perception of the bias be used by the 4x4 users?

Subject: Green Lane Day

Hi Chris

Sorry to have left at about 3:30 on Sunday, but it would seem some of the
younger chaps don't have the stamina! How did the rest of the afternoon go?

On looking back at the weekend in hindsight, which is always easiest, Saturday
came out as an excellent day split between clearing and driving lanes,
certainly a few people should be able to spot where we've been :-)

I wonder however if on Sunday the group was a bit too large, talking to the
chaps near the back of the group they felt they by the time they had got their
tools out and walked up to the obstruction those of use at the lead had already
cleared the lane! Perhaps another time when the numbers are some many it might
be better to spend longer clearing more over grown / obstructed lanes?

Just a thought anyway, although everyone enjoyed driving the lanes on Sunday
even those who scraped their nice shiney Landys ;-)

Thank you very much for yours and your families hospitality which was very much
appreciated.

Next task is to sort out our monthly newsletter and include a section on
telling H&WCC what they can do with their proposed downgrading of UCR's!

Adrian
