How do you mean? They don't show dual status roads, just the DM info which
is statutory, PAI is an extra, ONLY if not shown otherwise.
Or have I mis-understood the question?

There is a short list of statutory consultees which they MUST consult. Not
to, would probably invildate the TRO, ie Police Freight Haulage assn, they
do not HAVE to consult with users but it IS recommended by C 2/93, and that
applies only to BOATs etc, but MBB includes UCRS in 2/93. They do not now
have to advertise in LG saving 2-300 quid. That is why I have no faith in
LG, and feel a web site with everything inluding PIs and decision letters
would be 'Freedom of information in action'

Hereford did not appear to consult any but the statutory, even though they
claim they consulted 10 groups. If it goes ahead there will be a complaint
to ombudsman. Just had a letter back from legal denying any wrong doing,
they pass it all on to their 'client' We'll see.

Since the OS gains its data from many sources, principally the CC's own
information, filtered in most cases, it is hardly surprising that the map
data looks a bit sparse for any county.

The AWDC member could prove he was elsewhere at the time of the alleged

But the LO is still going ahead against three guys from the TRF.

The change I would like to see is the opportunity to see it on a
regular basis in the first place. It is no good being ABLE to say
"Joe Bloggs QC has got it wrong..." if you cannot find out what Joe
Bloggs QC said.

There is a means of access to ROWLR

It is just too expensive and most of us do not have the means!

I have just found out that a good friend of mine works as a civil
engineer for Babtie.
I mentioned that 'we' have some disputes with them in Berkshire and he
was most intrigued that they could be acting illegally or immorally.

I have not been following all the Berkshire details very closely but
if you want me to question him as an insider then send me some
specific details.

Don't know if it will help or reveal very much but might be worth
perusing.

Cheers,
Bod.

There is a 10MPH speed limit on a road near to Manchester Airport.
The road is public and I can see no reason why the limit signs should
not be also.

Can anyone (Alan?) let us know if back issues are available.

Can anyone give me some advice on rights of way on Skye? ISTR that Scotland
has a completely different system of RoW. I'm going to be spending up to 5
weeks there mapping just after Easter, and due to my dodgy knees would
rather do most of it from the rangie, rather than hiking up and down the
hills.

Subject: Candovers

Hi

Long term subscribers will recall the on going saga of the reclassification
of RUPPs in the Candovers Parishes. So far it has been PI - resulting in
mainly BOAT followed by objection from someone in the village (who didn't
attend PI or submit evidence and from who I didn't get expenses - I may
return to that one). Following the second PI, at which there were changes
but not loss of BOATs, here were more objections from a local landowner and
an estate agent. These were dealt with by written representation and the
two objectors were granted extensions of about 4 months to prepare their
objection. The local BDS rep phoned the DETR to ask why we had heard
nothing although time was up for the objectors. He was told that the
papers had been copied to the Authority and he would receive a copy in due
course, and not to worry as he would have 14 days in which to respond.

On another topic a local researcher has dug up a book on the siege of
Basing House by the Round Heads. One of those present was named Jervois
and was known to be such a liar that his name came to be used to describe a
fib. One wonders if the current owner of Herriard Park (a Mr Jarvois), who
has been instrumental in having RUPPs reclassified as bridleway around
Herriard and Weston Patrick, is a descendant. Those who heard him at the
Herriard PI might have thought so.
