Hi

Cleared 2 km of recently added bridleway. One end a very pleasant old lane

school (loads of bottles and crisp packets - obviously poor discipline) on
some more then along an old railway track bed.

Turn-out: 8 equestrians; 5 trail riders; 2 4x4sters. Thanks to the BHS for
organising such wonderful weather.

I think in 8 you have power and duty interchanged? What they are doing is
using a power TO AVOID doing a duty, and that is doubly wrong.

9 needs to come after 4, I think.

And 10 is an unnecessary threat. If you know of other problems, you should
attend to them independent of this case. Its like saying 'Have you stopped
beating your wife and if you don't answer I will report your scabby dog to the
RSPCA.'

Hi

One thing I forgot to mention was that during our 5.5 hours on this new
bridle route we encountered 16 riders, 4 cyclists, and two walkers. A much
needed route considering it has only been there a couple of months. Well
done Carol (BHS rep) and HCC.

Good oportunity for some nice positive PR:
"user groups co-operating on Rightsof Way to relieve the financial pressures on
Highway Authorities" etc etc etc

And of course if all we do is add it to the LoS there still won't be. But we
have forgotten that if we do, we will need to remove the obstruction, which
will allow the public to use the route, and then the Nettlecombe test will not
be met, and so the Byway claim will be valid, and so we will be back where we
started from if only we all live long enough.
And we have never heard of Lord Lane. He wansn't from round here, was he?

Cheers, tim

Well I think that was fine and dandy, very handy ;-) Nice one DT I will
mail Mike H for inclusion in the comics...

We (5 4x4s) and a JCB provided by Wokingham DC cleared along a stretch of
Woodcock Lane, Shinfield, restoring drainage wherever we could get to it,
we met several horse-riders, who thanked us (well we were standing on the
rangeys roofrack trying to clear upwards) a female American jogger with
Emphatic Biceps who smiled in a winning manner, and an old guy with a dog
who started off telllling us we were the scum of the earth and ended up
telling us that he'd write to the council praising us....so overall I
guess we did summat right.

Any piktoors, guv?

I'd delight to report such superb cooperation in B&B, but no bastard
never sends me nothing...
