Yes, got one coming in on Tuesday next 20th ?, as a trade in which I
would like to sell as a trade vehicle cheap !. Only reason is that we
are too busy to get involved in the little things that may/may not
require attention. It's a 1974 'N' reg 2.25 petrol and as trade sale
would be 1600. Also on the horizon is another 'N'reg but this one's a
V8 conversion with a 4 speed Range Rover box, Range Rover high ratio
diffs and because of the spec would be 2500 as a trade sale.

I beleive that the legal max is 60w main, 55w dipped. Anything above
this would need to be put through relays which is a minor problem
really. Max available are 140w main, 100w dipped and provided they are
properly aimed I cannot see how they would cause offence to anyone
particulary when one considers the highly offence dazzling nature of
many of the latest spec cars even when sat high up in a Land/Range Rover
! I'm not an armchair barrister but I think it would be hard to argue
that properly aimed high wattage bulbs even at a max main beam power of
140w can be 'illegal' when it is perfectly lawful to sport undippable
Hellas, Daylighters, Cibies etc at wattages FAR in excess of this.

I think they of similar pattern but by a different remoulder and I think
ours are cheaper !

Well I wasn't about to argue with him just in case 8-)

On the other hand, how would he tell how old it is to know what limit

I haven't been getting anything from the international list either, I
don't know about anyone else?

The real-time list is very light these days (I guess that alot of traffic
is happening on local sub-groups)

I think the following didn't reach the list. Apologies if it's a repeat.

Hi all,

It's not snowing so I thought I'd send a query on the off chance that others
are also waiting for the snow to come.

Even in this freezing weather my temperature gauge is reading in the red
zone. The engine doesn't seem to be physically boiling, so I assume that the
voltage regulator is dodgy. (It's a series 2a with an aftermarket gauge, run
by the LR voltage regulator, so I can't look to the fuel gauge for
conformation of this theory.)

Last time I bought a regualtor it was about 6 GBP, so being a tight fisted
student, I looked in my Maplin catalogue and found a chip that will do the
job for a lot less. What I need to know is what is the output voltage of the
regulator, and what sort of current does the gauge draw?

Cheers,
Chris

90/110 are no higher wattage than Ser3 which retail at about =A34.95
although they do have a slightly better pattern. True the replaceable
lights CAN fill with water but unless you go wading often I think the
benefit of being able to see each night when you travel home outweighs
the disadvantage of the ocasional drowning when you do the annual green
road :-). There is also a very effective rubber boot which if PROPERLY
fitted eliminates the ingress of water.
