I can't agree more to listening to the noises from the car, i have had a noise
from the gearbox for a while and my wife made me go and get it listened too
by professionals.

Turns out the main thrust bearing on the clutch is going so its in for the
clutch etc on thurs and fri, engine out job on a discovery, and 400 quid poorer
oh well there goes my new stereo. (for a few months anyway)

the moral of this story is, listen to the car and the wife !!!

ps. i am glad i have a good relationship with my mechanics as they wound me up
at first, by giving it the 'christ thats gonna cost lots' it's not the clutch
its the main thrust bearing going so we have to take the engine out. at that
point my face must have been a picture as keith burst out laughing and said
that the thrust bearing is part of the clutch and that they have to take the enging out anyway. sods. :-)

I noticed on the digest a post from our very own Gerald Tan about the alarms on
the new shape range rovers, and can confirm that LR have yet to hear of one
going missing.

in fact a friend who works at a land rover dealers, told me over the weekend
that it is so sophisticated they have had two that were not happy with the
owner trying to get back and refused to open. they had to get specialists in form the manufacturers to get it sorted.

once again a first from LR the unickable motor, even if you own it.

Was I the only net surfer at the Range Rover Classic day at Gaydon on Saturday?

It was brilliant, as was the museum!

I also inadvertently found myself in the middle of the Range Rover procession
from Solihull to Gaydon.
