I have been after information on gas conversions for Landys recently and not
met with much luck. The place I go to for my MOT used to do gas but stopped
about two years ago. They may be able to help with your problems.
They are:
L.R.C. (4x4) Ltd. in Congleton Cheshire.

Let us know how you get on, and good luck!

I think the facts speak for themselves. Land Rover have a *very*
successful product in the Discovery and usually the only people who
critise are those who expect the vehicle to be more than it was ever
intended to be e.g. it *is* noisier than a Jag, slower than a Porsche.
But it's from the best 4 x 4 stable around. I'm not sure what you intend
to do with the vehiccle when you speak about survivivability but the
pedigree of the beast is sound being as mechanically it is very much
based on the Range Rover albeit there have been improvements over the
original concept. Neveretheless it's proven.

Fine, that gets the oil changed but don't underestimate the value of the
trained eye whilst carrying out the service. Proper servicing enhances
the reliability of the vehicle. Of that there is *no* doubt. And after
all the beast you're talking about is going to be around the 18k to 20k
mark, if you've that sort of dosh spare why bother with DIY servicing ?
But, there again you do have long holidays !!

Providing it's the vehicle you want very few indeed. About 27 mpg.

>Do I need my own full time personal mechanic ?

No, hire one, on an as required basis, like every 6,000 miles or 6
months whichever is the sooner.

Would it last 8 years with up to 130 000 on the clock ?

And the rest.

Subject: Wanted - Series LWB Station Wagon

Does anyone out there know of a Series LWB Station Wagon for sale.
I`m willing to consider anything, but if it needs lots of work
would prefer an earlier Series vehicle. The reason for the
interest is due to recent expansions in the family and the SWB
just isn`t big enough for the OES dog and the kids anymore.
I may see some of you at the Old Sodbury sort out if I can
justify the expense to the wiff.

                                       Chris (SIII SWB [Winifred])

Subject: V8 Fuel probs-thanks guys.

Hi all
I mailed a while ago about V8 Fuel/enginge probs.
Got quite a lot of replies and am carrying out a
process of elimination, no results yet.
Thanks for all the help, once again the list
proves invaluable.
Stu.
