It's gone very quiet out there these last few days, is everybody busy
getting ready for the summer foray into the lanes or swatting for
exams? Or have I upset Majordomo and been disconnected?

Well, I have just taken delivery of a new Discovery...I buy a new Rover
every quarter century whether I need to or not! It's a "QP-1" (quality
point one) or pre-production '96 SE-7. Had about 11k miles and a wee bit o'
body damage but got a *great* price on it. (The recall affects the 3.9, right?)
Been having some trouble with bounced messages, both when the mail reader
addresses 'em or when I do it. Not sure whether the Major needs a good
talking to or I gotta slap this old PC around a bit. (Modern technology is
bigger hammers.)
Anyway, one of the charter members of ROAV died a few months ago (cancer,
and he was *my* age) and his estate has asked me to sell his Defender 110.
It's #262 of 500, 18,000 miles with the factory-mounted 8,000# winch.
Excellent condition. Will consider offers over $40,000. Post replys/offers
to the sig.block and I'll relay them to the estate.
And if anyone out there is wondering where the spring edition of "The
Gearbox" is, it went to the printers Tuesday morning...just hours after the
completion of the Camel Trophy. (There's a full write-up in it. The event
in Kalimantan was probably the toughest ever.) It should be posted out
Thursday night. Cheers
