OK gang, I'm not sure I'm getting through to CSO. You see, for the past two
weeks, I've been getting alternating digests...CSO one day and LRO the
other. Anyway, today was a new one...19 pages of "unrecoverable error"
messages from the entire roster of CSO. Weird.

Anyway, I'm not even sure I'm getting through....

OK, now the real question. As the new owner of a Disco, I'd like to have
some idea of what tools and parts to carry. In my '72 88", I carry enough
tools and spare parts to do everything this side of a major engine overhaul
- pulling pistons and cranks, that sorta stuff.

All this electric *everything* has me a little overwhelmed - like I'm used
to the 1957 "gap-it-with-a-matchbook" technology of the 2.25 and now I have
this 4.0 that lives and breathes on electrons.... Cheers

My original posting as meant for the main lro list, and not the UK one,
so it is possible you didn't see my comments there. If not, those who
do read both lists, please bear with me if I seem to repeat myself!! :-)

It has to go in for an MOT within the next week or so. If the fuel pump
doesn't solve it, I'll ask them (I'm also going to ask them to do
the join between the exhaust & manifold - I just can't get fastened
properly).

There is lots of crap in the sediment bowl (aptly named???). Alas, the clip
& bolt have seized, so I'm going to take the pump of completely to clean it
out. I thought I might as well recondition the whole pump whilst I was
at it - phone Craddocks for the bits + bowl, etc incase I do *too* much
damage! Turns out its cheaper to get a completely new pump, so one is on
its way. Oh well, I'll spares from my old one, for the future!!

If this doesn't do it, then a carb. overhaul will be the next thing.

It makes me wonder where the crap is coming from. I can think of two instances
+ 2 complete run-dries when it might have been introduced, but it *seems* to
be getting worse [the last couple of days, cold starts are painful to say the
least]. I'll see how big the rubbish is, but the tank looks okay.

Incidentally, how much economic? By using the accelerator less, wouldn't I
get similar savings??
Yes, I am on a budget, and I would definitely prefer not to buy a new
carb. within the next few months. Reconditioning it, I wouldn't mind -
doesn't cost as much, and I'll find out how the things work! :-)

So, within a month it will be dead silent in my Landy - sort that exhaust
problem out (loudest noise at the moment), soundproofing, and a Kenlowe
Fan! :-) Well, perhaps not that silent...

Two votes for the LWB tank, 1 for the 2nd mil.
I had the thought that a balancing pip (+isolation valve) could be added,
connecting the two mil. tanks if I went for that option.
Just a thought

I only subscribed a week or so ago, and also get a few bounced messages.
UK-LRO is worst in that one of the messages lists 30 or so addresses.
I forwarded this particular message to the administrator address, but I
still get them.

Luckily I don't pay for email on this (my work) account.
