As far as I can make out the 90 parts catalogue is about 40 ukp so if I was spending that I might as well go for the workshop manual but the SIII one might be worth considering. I've got a copy of the owners handbook, if that's what you were referring to but it doesn't tell you an awful lot and I was looking for just a bit more (eg sort of Haynes manual level but as I said that does not cover the V8) Gordon - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -[ <- Message 2 -> end | Table of Contents | <- Digest 990110 -> | Search Archive Index | <- Browser -> ]

I wander if we can find that errant young Scott Owen? Last time I blew a gearbox - I promise not to do the same again. BTW you are slipping, despite you're loudly stated claim that LRs should be green I notice in your column a picture of part of a BLUE LR ;-) (indeed a very clean BLUE LR). I'll be in touch separately with holiday dates. Gordon,
I missed the beginning of this thread 'cos I was upgrading (again) and =
I'm to lazy to go back through the digest...
But if you are looking for a workshop manual that covers V8s I have a =
spare kosher Land Rover (big grey and heavy) Defender workshop manual, =
dated 1993, that has everything in.... =A325 plus postage or depending =
where you are (I'm north of Manchester) we could arrange something.
Best Cheers

]From: "Mel Mauger & Matthew Reeve" <blatchwood@btinternet.com> Date: Sat, 9 Jan 1999 23:14:31 -0000 Subject: Wheel arches Does anyone know the legal requirements for wheelarches? I know the wheels shouldn't extend beyond the bodywork, but how much bodywork needs to be there? Is it enough to have the top part of the wheelarch wider than the wheel or is there a requirement for width further down as well? From: Adrian Redmond <channel6@post2.tele.dk> Date: Fri, 08 Jan 1999 02:25:15 +0100 Subject: What did i find in the heater duct? only yesterday we were "nigeling" about heater blowers and ducts, and I said it was surprising what I found in my 88" when I stripped that last year. Today I outdid my previous treasure hunting escapades. I removed the dash tray and duct which has not been unbolted at least since 1984 - and probably not since 1976, and what did I find inside? A fairly corroded but still intact Eley Kynoch 12 bore cartridge - unfired. Only god knows how long it's been in there, and even he might have trouble guessing how it got in there (maybe a gift from Solihull?). I'm just glad that with all the knocking and welding and grinding that I have incurred on that car in 15 years, that it didn't go off. I think we should start a new thread, and award a prize to the poster of the strangest thing ever found in the duct of their landy (OK - series I and II owners will just have to grin and watch).
