From: "Neill Hogarth" <Neill.Hogarth@allgaeu.org> Date: Sat, 30 Jan 1999 18:53:50 +0100 Subject: workshop manuals It is now a few weeks since I posted my request for information concerning workshop manuals for my 1986 110 station wagon. This is a summary of the advice I received. The books which are available are: Workshop manual Land Rover 90/110/Defender 1983 - ON Brooklands Books 41.95 pounds. Workshop manual Land Rover 90/110/Defender 1983 - on ^O Owners Edition 15.96 pounds. Land Rover 90, 110 & Defender Repair and Service Manual.^O 1983 - on. Haynes. (Only diesel engines). 14.99 pounds The level of detail, it has been suggested, is directly proportional to the price. The prices shown are the rrp. My research has shown thet prices vary considerably. www.bookshop.co.uk are the cheapest up to now. Thanks to all those who supplied advice. From: "Neill Hogarth" <Neill.Hogarth@allgaeu.org> Date: Sat, 30 Jan 1999 18:53:50 +0100 Subject: dents and suppliers After 12 years I am, since yesterday, once again a land Rover owner! (1986 bright orange 110 station wagon with a V8.) My new Land Rover has a fair sized dent in the bonnet. My local body work expert does not think it is any great problem. My question is - Can he treat a Land Rover body as if it was a normal car body or does the aluminium require special treatment. Needless to say he hasn't worked on a LR before (there are probably less than ten in the whole county) doesn't know. My second question is - Can anyone recommend a reliable and fast mail order parts supplier. I sent email and fax requests to a wide variety of suppliers last week. The fastest answer was two days later and the worst, up to now, is a firm that said they wouldn't charge VAT outside the EC. Who knows where they think Bavaria is. If I break a part I want to be able to order it next day and get it the day after. From: Elwyn York <Elwyn@ey-eg.demon.co.uk> Date: Sat, 30 Jan 1999 18:53:52 +0000 Subject: Cleaning Lights Hi I have got a pair of Lucas Spot Lights. They are slightly green on the reflector due to spending most of their time on a landrover bumper, and thus in water a lot (it was with us!) How can I clean these, and do they need it. A freind has said if i put them through the dishwasher I may lose the reflective coating at the back. Anyone? Cheers Elwyn LR S3 '72 (Very Dented) Lightweight. The nice thing was the side canopy, I would have one tomorrow... =
Mmmmnnn..
I've got the brownchurch as well, very well made, wouldn't part with it =
for the world.
Geoff, get down to Argos, get a "garden canopy" for 17.50UKP, hangs off =
the roof rack fine, will stand alone, best of both worlds.....
I've had one three years now, paid for itself many a wet night.
Best Cheers

About 25UKP gets you real headlights, with 55wt halogen = Local Autoshop today had H1 s with a blue glass "Supposed to cut through fog better" "30% Brighter" 55W and 100Watt. Is that legal for Aux spots on road, wired into main beam? About £ 11-00 for two. I need an H2 so I couldn't get it.
