Thought that might get your attention. Actually it's more of a clonk.....

A mate of mine who has a SIII like mine (SWB, 2.25 petrol) but just old
enough not to have to worry about VED any more, has this marked 'clonk'
from somewhere underneath every time he lets the clutch in, worse when
under heavy load, either from bodies in the back or a trailer behind.

He's not long had a new chassis, so the springs are new and all the usual
suspect joints should be nice and tight.

I'm wondering if his engine mounts are loose and letting the lump twist
over, but does anyone have any other ideas?

(I'm trying to get him to subscribe for himself so he can do his own
feeble jokes in future)

VMTIA

Cheers

Has anyone ever seen the AWDC heavy vehicles crowd move around? A few years
ago I saw them at Essex Arena. Mario Aliperti had his Graz (sp?) huge
Russian (?) thing towing a flat bed trailer with an Alvis Stalwart on it ,
then another trailer with caravan and serious workshop/welding kit. THAT is
the way to travel, very long and very heavy, did not see it moving
thankfully ;-)

I know it wont involve our beloved (Land Rovers that is) but I for one will
take the easy way down west. By boat. No traffic jams, no accommodation
problems and hopefully a staggering view as the effect passes down the coast.
Have access to verious sizes of vessels so could take some fellow travellers
or be more swashbuckling and form a small flotilla if others have anything
that floats.
On an other matter, bulkheads. Not the maritime verity but those in 110
defenders. I have just got to get my seat 50mm further back and/or 15 degrees
more recline. What do I need to strengthen b4 I cut? Its a hard top by the
way, had a quick look at an ambulance 110 at Nenes that had most of its
bulkhead cut with no obvious (inside or under) mods.
Good Day

If you look in the new issue of LROmag there is a picture of just such a
modification; a cutaway seat bulkhead with a cranked bracing bar across the
top. I think the bar is neccessary to stop the doors popping open going
round corners.

Almost any colour apart from 'Puffter Pink' is OK in my book, but BLUE's the
best ;-))

Oh my god, you've gone and done it, we'd only just got him settled down
after the last person mentioned (ssh, don't tell) a colour other than green
!!!!! Maybe if we all pretend it never happened, he'll calm down again :-))

First of all, sorry for the cross post.
Second, I've got a D90 owning friend who's currently in Alaska on work, and
is interested in meeting other LR people there. I vaguely remember someone
on the lists saying that they were off to Alaska for a while through work,
does anyone remember who and/or an e-mail address?

TIA

Maybe we could all pitch in and get Frank a pair of sunglasses with
green lenses. That way every rover he sees will be green and we just
have to keep people from mentioning the other shades of "green"...;-)
