the tube wasn't in badly was it?
Heard about wrinkled tubes, go up to correct pressure then gradually
straighten themselves out and, of course, the pressure drops....

I suffered from the same syndrome when I moved up from a V8 RR Classic to
another Classic retro-fitted with a 300TDI. Nice feeling, isn't it? (said with
big silly grin on face!)

I've been using a Garmin GPSII plus with an external ariel for over a year.
The unit is velcroed to the dash top, and the ariel glued to the roof. It
works well, but in some light conditions the screen cannot be seen!
I tried one of the 'flat' units. but they are less easy to mount in an LR,
supplier exchanged without question after a week's use.

I've been very pleased with the Garmin GPSIII, it's got a passable rolling
map of the UK showing major roads (down to A roads) and has most, if not
all, of the features you could want. If you decide to get a Garmin, or if
anyone else already has one, I have the e-mail address of a supplier of
plugs for making serial cables to connect your GPS to your PC or laptop.
There is also plenty of scrolling map software available as shareware on the
web.

ah, but the safety value of driving a battered, bull barred and muddy "real"
Land Rover cannot be dismissed. Apart from picking the Land Rover over a
Volvo in a smash, nine out of ten times the Volvo will get out of the way
anyway... I'm a very "considerate" driver, ev3n leave space infront in rush
hour for the lane changer to pop in- he must want it more than I do - but
it is often unavoidable that the "bully boys" come a'forcing through...
they just tend to back off when faced with PKV. I seriously consider the
"macho" look of PKV to be a safety feature.....
