From: "Kevan Shaw" <kevan@kevan-shaw.com> Date: Sat, 06 Mar 1999 12:32:17 +0100 Subject: Re: The UK/IERE Land Rover Owner Daily Digest Adrian, I have an unpainted galvy Chasais on my 88". It was two years old when I bought it ( The chassais!) and I have had it for 4 now, there is no sign of any deterioration. From previous experience of galvy finish ( Lamposts!) you need to let it weather until it has gone grey rather than shiney before paint will stick to it propoerly on lamposts that is reconed t be 3 to 6 months I hope this helps Kevan Shaw - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -[ <- Message 2 -> | Table of Contents | <- Digest 990307 -> | Search Archive Index | <- Browser -> ]

It fits fine, but doesn't go up the side of the wheelarches like the LR version. Keeps the carpets (!!! inserted for benefit of series owners) cleanish though. Have still got a damp passenger footwell though. Yours , Michael Smith '96 90 300TDi CSW (LR Special Vehicles Edition) mirsmith@globalnet.co.uk >Also I want to get a rubber mat for the load bay. From: "Neill Hogarth" <Neill.Hogarth@allgaeu.org> Date: Sat, 6 Mar 1999 22:45:50 +0100 Subject: spare wheel When I bought my new (old) LR the whell was mounted on the bonnet which seems the sensible place, back doors being what they are. Close inspection has shown that the wheel is mounted using a total bodge job! I asked my local Rover handler what the mounting kit and he said DM300 (more than 100 UKP!). Does anyone know where I can get this kit second hand? Does anyone feel like making me a sketch of there bonnet mounting and sending it to me. If it is as complex as the one on the back door of a defender I could easily make one with the advantage that I could then galvanise it! Thanks in advance.
