My understanding of Lightweights is that they run standard 4.7 diffs. To
increase speed and gain a little fuel economy swap to 3.54 Range Rover/90
diffs. you will however only increase speed if your engine is in good enough
nick to pull the higher ratio. The main improvement will be quieter cruising
as engine revs are lower. Upgrading to 750 tyres would also help, this is
assuming you are still running the standard 650s.
Better than changing diffs but normally more expensive is to fit a ser 3
overdrive as this will maintain the low box ratios.

Hi gang,
I'm back in the virtual pub and am I thirsty.
I do not EVER want to hear/read the word "Computer" again but I need to
read about LRs on the list.
In the past fortnight I've realised that I'm a Land Rover junkie. Just
owning and driving one isn't enough, I need to be fed regular emails about
'em as well.........
Best Cheers

Frank

Frank, welcome back. You've been sorely missed.

Just don't go back thru the archives of this list on the web else all the
talk of ORANGE LR's will make you vomit on your keyboard and you'll be
offline for a while again :-)

No yawns here, I woulod say that even though it i not exciting, there are
quite a few of us here that are really quite concerned as to what will
replace it the ultimate cost etc. esp those with S1's and 2.6's.......

>>>Welcome back Frank. Its your round.<<<

yeah that figures, Mike. why am I not surprised?
still, just spent an afternoon installing W8N98 on my son's er... thing...
after sorting out the earthing problems on his LR starter....
despite having enjoyed the odd glass or seven of Jameson's while doing the
"thing" bit, and having to lie in mud to do the earth, I still preferred the
earth problem....
maybe I'm just daft (as well as p*ss*d)

Best Cheers

Actually it isn't so much orange as er... bright orange. It is
definately shaped like a Land Rover and has Land Rover on all its
bits and pieces.

Whether you think that Land Rovers should be green or not the fact
is that orange definately adds to the in built priority that a 110
seems to have. Anyway I like my Land Rovers orange, others like
them green. Surely everyone should be happy with wht they've got?

Didn't buy LRO 'cause you weren't there. I now need something else to hang
