I doubt if it would be a problem, as they are both fitted with Standard
Escort bits. I did a 2.5 N/A D to 200 Tdi, and Norwich union siad OK, all
standard bits.

Now if I fitted a 3.0 Perkins diesel thats modified.

ie did it come out of the factory in that format or not.
OK you are changing it, but only to another std version of the vehicle.

Its when you deviated from Std builds that causes the twitchy bums at the
Insurance Co.

No Probs, the Engine change only constitutes 1 (One) point under the "Eight"
point rules.

(Look on the DVLA website under modified /Kit vehicles)

Can you repair chrome swivels ( the rust pits ) with a filler of some
sort ?

If so can anyone recommend a product to use .

This is all in the name of saving money to keep with in a budget ( some
hope )

Good Friday - try out a track to a beautiful remote beach in the north east
coast of the island. The accompanying vehicle is a S....i Sidekickin the
pants - should be fun. For me anyway. Once there the 90 will be the anchor
for the parafoil kite I use to take aerial photos.

Probably get down to the rear pinion seal on Sunday.

Subject: Re: Drop Arm removal

I haven't got the right tool for this, but I have a method. First heat
the drop arm with a well focused flame. Then use a log-splitting wedge -
maybe with the middle cut out to allow the steering shaft to pass
through so that the wedge fits between the stering arm and the drop arm
on both sides, and "tap" the blighter out.

When reassembling, glean the splines with a wire brush and coat
liberally with copper grease, so next time...
