Firstly check all the breathers including the flame traps in the rocker cover to carb breather pipes. These must all be clear for a V8 to breathe properly, and any blockage will lead to oil being pushed out all over the place. price sounds right, but what's wrong with yours, these axles are virtually
unbreakable (ie I haven't broken one and if I can't......)

Yo Bill,
the Major is forwarding you a "suspect" subscribe, asking to subscribe
NMCC@ruther56.freeserve.co.uk .
he (she?) is suspicious 'cos the request came from my email address...
this is because my son is staying with us this weekend (don't ask how long
we struggled with the brakes on his Ser3 this afternoon) so I was talking
about the list and subbed him.
will you be a sweetie and accept the subscription, just for me.......
Best Cheers

OK checked the propshaft UJ's and yes one leg of the rear joint was kaput so I replaced it, there is still excessive play (KLUNKING) also while raising one wheel and turning the raised wheel the axle is very tight, oil OK, also when prop removed it feels like the halfshaft splines are worn and riding over each other half way, no I haven't removed the half shafts yet but when I do if they are worn on the spline surely the diff will be??? Any pointers on common faults gratefully received. Whets this about an axle spreader? To finish on a quick one the newly acquired 90, checking oils this weekend and a red auto box type fluid ran out level plug. Obviously the level is OK but whets the red stuff?? Thanks again folks. -- Nigel M Duffin - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -[ <- Message 9 -> | Table of Contents | <- Digest 990405 -> | Search Archive Index | <- Browser -> ]
