Subject: Broken axles


We had a bad time with broken axles on our 109.  The last set we put in
were "iced" first and are still going strong >10 years.  The proceedure
is to take your brand new axles and pack them in dry ice for twelve hours.
Then slowly let them return to normal temprature (as the dry ice runs
out).  This is supposed to do alot of stress relief, I don't know if it's
true but we haven't broken one since.
