Well, Land Rover Limited declined to accept my oil consumption figures of 334 miles/pint, so they carried out their own test. The test just ended yesterday with the result that the official oil-consumption of my 8 month old 7000 mile Land Rover is 230 miles/pint. Pretty high huh? Anyway, after much haggling the UK Service department at Land Rover have finally (I think), agreed to replace the engine under warranty. I'm hoping this will happen in 2-3 weeks time when I shall finally have a tip-top condition Land Rover all ready for winter. Snow and ice, here I come (assuming we have some this year!). Now, a while backing people were asking for the address of dealers in engine conversion kits. One particular name that came up was Steve Parker, who specializes in everything to do with Ford V6 conversions. I've finally remembered to bring in his address : Steve Parker Land Rovers, Unit 72, Healey Hall Mills, Healey Dell, Rochdale, Lancs, OL12 6BG. United Kingdom. Phone +44 706 350140 (watch out for the Rochdale accent!) This address came from the British Magazine Land Rover Owner which is published monthly and is recommended reading for all LR and RR enthusiasts. Subscriptions (for the US) cost 30 pounds for 12 issues, and are available from LRO Publications Ltd., The Hollies, Botesdale, Diss, Norfolk IP22 1BZ, United Kingdom. This sounds like an ad but actually I have nothing to do with them... Happy Land Rovering, Simon. ------- End of Forwarded Message
