Simon, The Palo Alto all British field meet is on Sunday Sept 9. It starts about 10 AM . The meet will take place in a park accross the street from the Stanford Shopping centre. Anyone in the north bay area could give you instructions to the shoping centre. I do not believe my LR was built in Spain. The commission plate says England. The deacl on my windscreen has the words Land Rover, followed by the the Spanish word for Unstopable. The wording is in the shape of an 88. Wheels and the roof to the hard top were added to the words to complete theLR look. Perhaps the first factory sponsered trip along the length of the Americas was done by Range Rovers in 1970, but there were magizine sponsored trips during the 60s. I remember seeing write-ups on at least one such that included some 109s in my dad's magizines. I'm not positive, but i also think I remember seeing part of a travalogue on that or a similar trip on the television. i have a question that you may be able to answer. If you were in the UK in 1959 and wanted to purchase a roof mounted spot light, what brand and what model would you have purchased {was there a selection or one most common}? Are they still available today? TeriAnn
