Ifns you are doing an engine transplant ... Have you contacted Jim "Scotty"
Hewet shop- 415-432-2221, home shop 415-686-2255.  He has adapters for
the Chevy 6 cyl. & Chevy 4 cyl.  The Chevy 4 uses the stock LR engine
mounts & stock carb linkage.  It is lighter than the LR 4 & has more power.
The 6 requires you to move the radiator forward a little {some people put in 
a larger radiator}, play with the linkage a little, & add an adaptor to move th
the fan.

Scotty is probably the best known real land Rover expert in the area {he is
in Concord}.

You can go to the Palo Alto meet {Sun Sept 9th, in park across street
from Stanford shopping center} & ooggglee at the cars.  I expect over 20
Land Rovers to show up, including mine.
