Wakeman" To: land-rover-owner%stratus.com@RELAY.CS.NET Subject: Estate Wagon As usual, there were more Land Rovers at the British Car meet in Plao Alto than there was space for. I think that there was somewhere around 20 Land Rovers of differnt sorts. The ambulance was not there this year, but ther e was a 109 set up in military trim to take its place along with a Daimler Ferret {Armored car} parked among the Land Rovers. A '86 110 showed up. This LR was registered in IreLand, & is on a round the world tour. There was one doormobile and something I had never seen or heard of before .... an Estate wagon. The Doormobile {quick refresher course} is a factory camper with a pop up top {Like VW camper}. It is a 5 door 109 with built in propane stove, sink, storage cabinets, beds in the pop up area, seats that reverse direction to go around a drop in table ... perty impressive. The Estate Wagon ... Something I have never noticed before .... is based on a 3 door 109. It has a benck seat that goes the full length of the left side of the LR bed. This seat is capable of sliding down and becoming a bed {cushon and seat back wide}. The right side of the LR bed has a set of wood drawers/ cabinets. Lots of storage space. I did not notice any cooking facilities. This LR has a one peice full length headliner. Evidently the Estate Wagon top is supposed to be a pop -up {goes straight up with canvas sides as opposed to tilt up Doormobile top}. Does any on know anything about Estate Wagons?? These are new to me & I would appricate any additional info. Is ther any other factory campers made that I still do not know about???? TeriAnn
