I have a n exmilitary 110 hard top with the 200tdi motor. quite a few of my fellow Umtata collegues have the new 110 and are asking quite a few questions after I mentioned this to them. I have been down to the local LR dealer and to = quote them after seeing the LR they say " It is the old petrol block = that was changed into a diesel, and them later they(Land Rover) added = the turbo to get more power". These engines were not reliable and hence = the fact that I found it, as I am looking for a cheap (GOOD) diesel?! = They say a new TDi implant will cost around R42 000. This LR is selling = for R56 000. I have spoken = to the agents here again and the problem has been resolved. It was a = 'case' of some/ one of the compoments not being case hardened. The real = problem was that some replacements were also faulty and this is what = caused a big stink. The harder the LR worked the sooner the problem = became apparent. All the owners of new LRs that I know in town have not had any problems, = in fact they have had very good service from their LR & the Agents, = SAVOY MOTORS. Cheers, Patrick.
